ANNUAL GRASS CUTTING CONTRACT
For the 3 years commencing 1st April 2010
[See Appendix for Plans]

SCHEDULE 1
Areas A To be mown twice during each month of April, May, June, July and August and once during the third week of September, at fortnightly intervals.
Total: 11 cuts
A1 Grassed area completely surrounding the Village Pond in The Square. [Plan 1]
Areas B To be mown twice during each month of April, May, June, July and August and once during the third week of September, at fortnightly intervals.
Total: 11 cuts
B1 The Village Green between The Square and St Michael’s Church. [Plan 1]
B2 Grass verge adjacent to The Green near the entrance to Back Lane all the way across the top of The Green in front of the Church and No. 15 up to the edge of Crooked Corner [Plan 1]
B3 Grass verges on left and right hand sides of road from The Green to Crooked Corner. Left had verge to be cut to the corner by No. 15 garage on The Green. [Plan 1]
B4 Grass bank and verge along the front of The Blue Boar Public House. [Plan 1]
B5 Left and right banks and right verge from The Square to The Green. [Plan 1]
B6 Grass verge from the telephone & seat in The Square, past the recycling centre and up the road to The Green
B7 Grass verge in Oxford Street adjoining The Paddocks junction. [Plan 1]

B23 Children’s Play Area at end of Claridge Close cul-de-sac. [Plan 7]
B24 Grass verge in Turnpike from Rectory Wood to the boundary dividing Nos 1 & 2 Turnpike. [Plan 7]
B25 Visibility splay at The Garlings junction with Southward Lane. [Plan 8]

C1 Goddard’s Lane Playing Field. [Plan 1]
C2 Left visibility splay at Goddard’s Lane junction with Lottage Road. [Plans 1 & 9]

C4 Strim grass between wall and footpath adjacent to Claridge Close bus stop. [Plan 7]
C5 Strim grass back by 1 metre on left hand side of Rectory Wood from Turnpike junction to the boundary of first house in Rectory Wood. [Plan 7]
C6 Strim grass back from inner edge of total length of raised section of footpath in Lottage Road. [Plans 1 & 9]
Areas D To be mown twice during each cutting season, during either the last week of April or the first week of May and then the third week of September.
Total: 2 cuts
D1 Grass areas in South Street between the Bourne and Footpath 42. [Plans 1 & 7]
D2 Grass areas in South Street between the Bourne and B4192 (South Street). [Plans 1 & 7]
D3 The road side edge of the Bourne from Goddard’s Lane to Kays Cottage, 29 Lottage Road. [Plan 9]
Areas E Overgrowth to be removed twice each cutting season, during either the last week of April or the first week of May and then the third week of September.
Total: 2 cuts
E1 Goddard’s Lane footpath from Crooked Corner to Goddard’s Lane. [Plan 2]
E2 Loveday’s Lane footpath from Lottage Road to Grasshills. [Plan 2]
E3 Church path from The Vicarage to Brown’s Field. [Plan 4]
Areas F Strim around bases of play equipment once during April, twice at fortnightly intervals during each month of May, June, July and August and once during the first week of September.
Total: 10 cuts
F1 Whitley Road Playing Field. [Plan 5]
F2 Goddard’s Lane Playing Field. [Plan 1]
SCHEDULE 2
Areas G Cut one metre down both banks of the Bourne in South Street and the roadside bank only in Lottage Road twice in each cutting season.
Total: 2 cuts
G1 The Bourne in South Street from The Square to Farm Lane (both banks). [Plans 1 & 7]
G2 The Bourne in Lottage Road (roadside bank only). [Plan 9]
GENERAL
This contract shall be for 3 years commencing on the 1st April 2010. The contractor is to provide a fixed price for each year of the contract.
The contractor shall supply all necessary machinery and equipment and remove and dispose of all cuttings immediately following the completion of each stage of the contract works.
The contractor shall provide evidence of Public Liability and Third Parity Insurance cover to indemnify Aldbourne Parish Council against any claims in respect of the specified works.
Delegated members of the Aldbourne Parish Council will carry out any necessary supervision and an internal audit of the schedules will be carried out annually but all enquiries should be address to the Parish Clerk.
The Parish Clerk will provide the contractor with a check list showing all the works to be carried out at each cutting. The contractor must ensure their operators complete this check list after each required cut and pass this back to the Parish Clerk. The contractor will advise the Parish Clerk in advance the date that each grass cutting visit is due. Invoices shall be submitted to the Parish Clerk monthly.
TERMINATION
Either party shall be entitled to terminate this agreement upon 6 (six) months prior written notice to the other party such notice to expire at any time on or after the first anniversary of the commencement date. Termination in accordance with the provisions of this clause shall not be regarded as a breach of this agreement and shall be without prejudice to the rights of the obligations of either party which shall have accrued by the date of termination.
All Tenders should be received by the Parish Clerk in a sealed envelope that is clearly marked ‘GC Tender’ by 5pm Thursday 18th February 2010.
